Chrysalis is our post-season meta for 2026. What if we took a previous meta from this season and made it harder to build a team by giving you a wallet of points? Metamorphosis was a well liked meta from this past season, so we decided to use it as the base. First we needed to check it against the season updates. While some Pokémon such as Sligoo jumped massively in the ranks after season adjustments, it was determined that none of them were so overpowered as to require a ban. Our first thought was to have a 10 point wallet with 12 Pokémon costing 3 points, and another 16 priced at 2 points with all the remaining Pokémon worth 1 point each.
As our testers thought about it, there were several legendary/mythical Pokémon that were quite good that were still sitting at 1 point. Some of them have accessibility issues, depending on when you started playing and if you had someone to trade with. So with more discussion, we expanded the point wallet to 12, but added 5 more Pokémon to the 2 point list. We look forward to seeing who emerges from the Chrysalis as our World Champion!
